July 31, 2008 - Day 6

A little peek-a-boo under the dock with PopPop Dirk!!

This year Braden made friends with the twin boys 2 houses down. They spent time playing together throughout the week - then they asked him to go tubing with them! They had a great time - this HUGE tube was great for the 3 of them!!! Their family has been in their house on the lake for as long as Chris's family has - so we're pretty sure that we will see them from year to year as the boys grow older!!

July 30, 2008 - Day 5

We made our trip out to the DockSide resturant tonight for some food and drinks! It was a great night to dine outside by the water! Here's a few pics from the end of the dock!

Then we headed home and headed out on our nightly boat ride. One of Braden's favorite things about Michigan!

I caught this gorgeous sunset before we started the *talking fire* tonight...breathtaking!
Notice how there is *two* of Braden o the kid just won't stand still :) This was the most usable pic - the rest he looked like a ghost running around the fire :) He didn't last too long though before he curled up on Daddy's lap and passed out! He has absolutely no problem sleeping up here - the outdoors will do that to you ;)

July 29, 2008 - Day 4

Cool dude and Aunt KT on the boat *trying* to go to breakfast this morning. It seems that someone has been *driving* the boat too much and we had a dead battery! But no fear, PopPop got it charged up and it was working fine by the afternoon!!

July 27, 2008 - Day 2

Fun day on the beach! He found his Jet Ski in the storage room and had to get it out again this year!

I wonder why we even bother to get him dressed at all? Every day - usually twice a day this is where he ends up - in all his clothes and usually shoes...what a water baby!

July 26, 2008 - Day 1 of Heaven ;)

We arrived safe and sound at around 8:30am to beautiful Torch Lake, Michigan! It took all of 20 minutes before Braden was in the lake...fully clothed...shoes and all! He "had to get the rocks" he threw in the lake...sure!

Braden thought Daddy should get a little wet too!

Then after a day of fun - we went for the first boat ride of the year! Braden was so excited!

We left tonight about 9:30pm for our family trip to Michigan! Braden was all ready to go!

Cookie making time! Braden made this almost completely on his own! He was so proud, and they were darn yummy!

Braden received this package in the mail today from his friend the Mickster down south! He sent Braden all kinds of clothes and shoes - Thanks so much!! I think that someone had a few $0.41 stamps and some Christmas tape to use up :)

I was at Jill's new house tonight enjoying dinner and some wine when this wicked storm came rolling over the corn fields! It was some of the craziest lightning I'd seen in a LONG time!

well they might kill me for this when they are teenagers :) but they were cute playing in the hallway! Gavin has been coming at 6 am this week while his mom works a different schedule - so we spend most of the morning in our jammies :)

Our towns carnival came to town! Braden had a blast again this year. We did an all-you-can-ride bracelet this year - and he made it worth our while! It was a perfect day for it too!!

Moving Day

The neighborhood men helped Jill and Brooks move all the big stuff today. They don't *officially* move in until Thursday, but after today, only the beds were left!

Tonight we had a neighborhood Taco & Margarita party! It was a bittersweet good time because it was a going away party for our good friends Jill, Brooks and Gavin! They are only moving 5 miles away - but we're still sad! Gavin will still be coming to my house at least twice a week when Jill goes to work so the boys will still get to play and I know that Jill and I are going to have to find some mommy time too! We love you guys and we're going to miss you!
