Not a great shot of the ice cream...but I found these individual cups of chocolate ice cream today and thought that maybe Braden would eat these. We're once again trying to add calories to his diet any way we can! He liked them ok - I just hope mommy and daddy don't eat them all first :)

Just after watching the 5 o'clock news and being told that "all would be quiet in the metro area tonight" Chris and I saw this brewing outside! I think they were slightly wrong!!

It sure is fun to have Daddy home for a few days to goof around with at the park!!

Happy 4th of July
We decided to let the monster stay up to watch fireworks this year! Our town doesn't have fireworks until their summer festival next weekend, so we scoped out a new place! It ended up being awesome! Braden had a great time running around the field - wouldn't sit with us at all to watch them! As every one headed to the sky he'd yell "Blast off" it was great fun!

This is the face I got when I asked him to smile with me ?!?!?!

There he is 25 feet in front of us -running back and forth the whole time!!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday! Happy Birthday America!!!

On a side note: Chris and I were reminiscing today that 4 years ago we had a little Independence day of our own! That was the day that our little bubby hit the 2 lb. mark! It was such an awesome accomplishment and one I will always associate with the beautiful celebrations of the day!

July 03, 2008

I picked up some 'snakes' and sparklers today at the grocery store. That is about all that is legal in our little state! Braden had his first sparkler experience and loved it. I swear I see his Uncle Adam in him more and more each day! I started out holding it for him and by the next one he was off and running...

My Hydrangeas are doing awesome this year - really, they are beautiful! I wish I could take more credit, but really, all they ask is for a little water now and then :)

July 01, 2008

Ok - so the battery only charged for about 17.2 hours before he had driven me bonkers - I finally hooked it up and off he went! He's a pro! He knew how to make it go into turbo speed (you turn the handle mom - just like a real 4-wheeler) Ok, so I haven't been on a real 4-wheeler since I was 15 so he might be right :) He had a blast - killed the battery from driving for 3 hours straight and loved every minute of it! Have fun bubby - maybe sitting on this thing will save us from burning some calories :):):) Added bonus!

June 30, 2008

Man, when you're 4 the party just never stops!! Today his final (BIG) birthday present finally arrived! This was his face as he saw the box in the driveway!

Yep, we caved and got him a power wheels battery operated 4 wheeler! Too bad Daddy had to put it together AND the battery had to charge for 18 stinking hours! So he just got to sit on it tonight, but tomorrow will be a whole new ballgame!!

Somehow our bed usually becomes the cool place to play on any given day! We often have to carry arm loads of trucks, cars and semis off our bed before we can sleep!!

June 28, 2008

Good Friends, Good Family, Good Food, Good Drinks, Good Weather AND a Cardinals win!
Can't really ask for much more than that!!
We had a great time! Can't wait till next year!
(And D fit in just fine with all of us - except for that darn Yankees hat - which she is banned from wearing next year (hmmm...guess what she's getting for Christmas!!)

June 27, 2008

Today mom came to stay with Braden for the weekend and Chris and I headed to KC for a little getaway! This weekend is the annual Royals vs. Cardinals trip! This year we went to stay with my friend Denise (hostess with the mostess!) on Friday! Charlie made us some YUMMY steaks and margaritas were flowing :) D and I tried to take a nice picture but kept cracking up at something!! D is joining us for the first time at the game tomorrow! She is sure in for some fun!!

Then somehow we got Chris to finish making the roll-ups for the big game. Now he says he was cooking - but really he just spread the already made filling on the tortillas and rolled them up! But dangit he was so proud of himself!!

June 26, 2008

The birthday just continues! Today he got a gift (man, do they know what he likes or what?) from his friends the Mickster and the Pink Princess !
He was so excited - and really wants to meet them one day (they live way down south, but some day it will happen!) Thanks guys for making his day!!

June 25, 2008

Today I took Braden and Gavin to the pool to cool off and get them out of Jill's hair (they are in the process of moving :( ) We made it to the pool for 15 minutes before the lightning started! They boys were bummed -but we headed to McDonald's for Happy Meals ($1.89 Wednesdays!!) and while we were waiting in the long line they were back there cracking each other up - I had to snap a pic - they were too funny!

Today is also Jill's B-day so we headed out for a few drinks and relaxation!

Happy 4th Birthday Braden!!!
It is so hard to believe that you are 4! You have come a long way Bubby and we love you so much! We hope you enjoyed your special day!!

He wanted to go to "Peppers" (aka Chili's) for dinner and they presented the birthday boy with this massive ice cream sundae! He ate it up and loved that it had sprinkles on it! 3 years ago he had his first Chili's ice cream sundae and was just as excited :)

Good to the last lick!!

Here is the Monster Truck cake that he picked out and loved!! I wish I could say that I made it, but I have to thank Super Target ;)

After dinner we had the neighborhood friends over for some cake in the driveway! And after seeing the way that blue icing stained everything in sight, I'm glad it wasn't in my house!!

The Birthday Boy was more interested in running the Monster Trucks through the frosting than actually eating the cake - but he sure had fun, which I guess is all that matters!!

Then things got pretty goofy and we knew it was time to call it a night :)
